The 12 Days of Christmas Quest: Day Three

It is the third day of Christmas and it is time to continue the quest. If you missed day one click HERE to start from the beginning and read all the details. Then for day two, click HERE.

Before I start, I want to answer a question that was asked yesterday. One of my faithful followers and friends asked me what Boxing Day is. A few years ago, I did a series of Holiday Handouts and talked about all the different holidays during the month of December and the early part of January.  She had recalled me writing about it but couldn't rember the details. So for Edwina and anyone else unfamiliar with Boxing Day, here are the basic facts.

Boxing Day is a holiday that is celebrated on December 26th, the day after Christmas Day. It originally began in the United Kingdom but it is also celebrated in a number of countries that used to belong to the British Empire, including Canada. In some countries, Boxing Day is a bank holiday and in other countries like Canada, it is a National holiday.

If you are from Austria, Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Wales, England, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Poland, the 26th of December is celebrated as St. Stephen's Day. The true tradition on this holiday is to give gifts to the poor and needy. In some places, there is also the tradition of giving gifts to people who work in the service industry.

Now back to today's quest.

As a quick refresher, each day during the 12 Days of Christmas (Dec. 25th to Jan. 5th), you're going to be given a task to follow. I'll be sending you on a quest to find something or provide me with certain facts from the stores or blogs of designers that I love. Then, it will just be a matter of emailing me the answer to my query and you'll earn a free digital paper.

Since this is a busy time of year for most people, you will have plenty of time to complete the quest. It is completely up to you as to when and how you submit your answers (daily, all at once at the end, or otherwise) AS LONG AS all your answers are sent in no later than January 12th, 2017.

Here is the paper up for grabs today...

This paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. Credits include: 8 Red Fish Creative (Design Cuts), Peace Shop (The Hungry JPEG), and Sheila Reid (Pixel Scrapper). In the zip folder that will be emailed should you successfully complete the quest, you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set! So, how about we get started with today's clue!!!

On the third day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number three.
Keep playing along and if you answer correctly,
you'll earn another paper for free!!!

Task:
Today's quest takes place at Ike's Art. Along with making fabulous digi stamps, and adorable animal figurines from paper maché and plaster, she also specializes in fine art Animal Portraits and takes orders to create portraits of beloved family pets. She has a number of samples in this area. So, head on over to the Animal Portraits section of the Ike's Art store (2nd tab on the top). You will find images of all the portraits she has displayed in the middle of the section. The first image on the left is of two spaniels, then there is a Hawk and the third one is a cat. If you hover your mouse over the cat, the rest of the images will scroll through. Once you get it scrolling, if you move closer to the middle, it will go slower and moving your mouse to the right will go quicker.  Let me know the name of your favourite Animal Portrait from this section. Hint: There are 14 different images to scroll through. As you are scrolling through, you can see the names of the jpgs. Alternatively, you can click on any image to see it bigger and the name will show but you have to move the mouse around until you see it.

Click HERE to head there now!

When you come up with a response, send an email to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca (be sure to replace 'at' and 'dot' with the appropriate symbols) or by clicking HERE to bring up my address in your email program, with the subject heading, "12 Days of Christmas: Day Three".

Cheers!

Oopsies! Error with Gift Boxes Patterned Paper Preview

There is a reason that I shouldn't be designing and posting at 11:30 at night. I ended up putting the wrong preview image with the Gift Boxes Patterned Paper that was posted earlier this morning. I apparently had The 12 Days of Christmas on my brain when creating it but this paper belongs in the A Holly Jolly Christmas Kit.

I have since edited the post but if you happened to be one of the six people who have already downloaded it, please replace the preview image with this one...

Or you can delete the zip folder you downloaded and re-download it. The download link can be found by scrolling down one post. Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you.

I'll be back later this evening with the start of The 12 Days of Christmas but it looks like I may be posting it pretty late as well. Just letting you know...

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you all! Everyone should get a present on this day. So here is my Christmas gift to you...

To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Edit: Oopsies. I just realized that I put the wrong cover page information on the preview. I have since fixed it. I apparently had The 12 Days of Christmas on my brain but this paper belongs in the A Holly Jolly Christmas Kit. I'll add post to let anyone who has already downloaded it know.

Stay tuned as later this evening I have something special planned for all of you who enjoy treasure hunts. The third annual edition of The 12 Days of Christmas starts--Each day for 12 days, you can earn a free holiday themed digi paper by doing a simple task. So, I'll see you all again soon!

Happy holidays all!

Challenges I am hoping to enter...

    http://scribblesdesignschallenge.blogspot.ca/

So, don't forget to mark you calendars every Friday to head on over to the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog to grab the latest freebie up for grabs. Don't forget, you can find the Wreath from December 9th's post HERE. It is a great way to add to your SD digi stamp collection. Remember, when you use an SD image on a project that you enter into our monthly challenges, you get extra entries! That is a great incentive to use one of Sandy's images. Why not this one?

    Until next time,
