Freebie: Happy Hallowe'en

Okay, so I realize that Hallowe'en has just minutes left before it is over but I at least managed to get your freebie done before midnight.  I'm sure all the little ghosts and ghoulies were home hours ago and spent their evening enveloped in a serious sugar high.  We had a whole 13 kids show up at the door.  Not many, but twice the number we had last year.  At least it wasn't raining and freezing tonight only just a little drizzle.

While I am aware that some of you do not celebrate Hallowe'en, it has always been one of my favourite occasions.  Did you know that the word Hallowe'en dates back to around 1745 and is of Christian origin?  The word "Halloween" means "hallowed evening" or "holy evening" and it comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows' Eve (the evening before All Hallows' Day) (Wikepedia).

There is so much history wrapped up into Hallowe'en and maybe next year I will have time to share some of it with you.   For now, there is just five minutes to go before it is midnight and I still have to get one more post ready to come out for tomorrow morning.  Unfortunately it doesn't appear that I am going to get one of my DT posts done that technically should have come out by the end of the month as well.  Hopefully I won't be fired.  Well...on that happy note, it is time for me to get on with it.

Anyway, here is the preview to today's freebie...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Scraps Statchoo, and Rita from the fabulous The Coffee Shop BlogFull credits in the file.  To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

I'll see you all again tomorrow with my midway project for Scribbles Designs.  Plus it is time for the DT Delight's post for The Path of Positivity and the newest challenge at The 12 Months of Christmas.

Until then,

Card Design: Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge...October

 http://gerdasteinerdesigns.com

With under three hours to go before the link up expires, it is time to get my final progressive card for the month posted. Nothing like leaving it to the last possible minute!  This means I can mark one more thing off my crazy weekend 'to do' list and only have five more to go!  This time up it is for the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge.

If you have never been to Gerda's before, NOW is the absolute best time to go and check her designs out.  When I went over earlier today to grab the watermark and link to this month's image, I ended up finding the freebie motherload!  I picked up 11 ADORABLE FREEBIES!  And, if I am not mistaken, there were two other free images listed as well, just ones I already own.  It is hard to say how long they will be there so be sure to go and visit as soon as you can!  Simply click HERE to head to the digital stamp section of the store and you'll see a list of all the images.  The freebies are mixed within.  Be sure to leave Gerda LOTS of ♥♥♥LOVE♥♥♥ if you end up picking up some of the freebies.

Now back to the current challenge.  This month we got to work with the following sweet image...

If you decide to hop on and play along in the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge, then you can purchase this digital by clicking HERE (or on the watermark above to head to its location in the store). This way you'll receive next month's digital stamp for free. Although, given how little time left there is in the challenge, you'd need to work REALLY FAST! ;)

Card Design: From the Heart Stamps October Challenge

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/blog/

Okay so I got my first progressive card posted earlier today and also managed to get a winner announcement post created and scheduled for one of the blogs I do some coordinating stuff on.  That still leaves, two cards and four posts to get done by tomorrow and then two more for Sunday and the final for Monday!  At least by the time I'm done this post I'll be able to strike one more off the list.  Right now, I am popping in to post my October card for the From the Heart Stamps (FTHS) progressive stamp of the month challenge. Thank goodness I got it done on time as I'd really be disappointed to miss out on the wonderful opportunity to earn incredible stamp sets from such an amazing designer by not getting my project completed in time!

In order to enter the FTHS progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  While you are there, have a look around.  They have some really awesome images.

General Information:

  • While I do have intentions of printing this card out and assembling it, I just ran out of time but since it is 100% digital, even the colouring of the image by moi, I can easily present it to you in digital format.
  • This month's set lent itself beautifully to creating a fall themed birthday and I have a special friend whose birthday happens to be at the end of November.
  • I followed an old sketch from Kathy's Waffle Sketch File, just tweaking it a bit.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • The image on the front, Cornucopia, is available for purchase over at From the Heart Stamps. Click on the title or on the watermark below to go to its location in the store.
  • If you missed out, you can still play along with the challenge by purchasing the image. Then you can enter the challenge and receive next month’s digi free. Alternatively, if you spend $10 in the From The Heart Stamps store this month, you'll receive the image for free.  To find the special code you need, be sure to check out the original post by clicking HERE.
  • This image was coloured digitally using Photoshop Elements 12.  In hindsight it would have been much quicker to colour it in by hand; however, I was afraid that once it was printed it would be too small to colour and shade properly and besides it helped me to practice my digital colouring skills.

Another post done?  Check!  I'm actually making pretty good time today.  If I am lucky I might just get my freebie post ready for tomorrow, get started on another post that has to go out tomorrow and and possibly even another card posted later tonight.  Hopefully time and the angels are on my side.  See you all again soon!

Until next time,

Wonderful Wednesdays (on a Thursday)--Offering for October

If you are new to my blog and want to know how this concept got started, you can find the original post by clicking HERE

Ummmmm....oops.  I KNEW there was something else that I should have done yesterday.  Oh well, it may not be Wednesday anymore but at least it is still October.

If you are new to my blog in the past year, you can find other items for the October kit by clicking on the respective links below:

For 2015, I am offering up another digital paper for the October kit with the theme: Frightfully Delightful...

https://app.box.com/s/3991ufzq89ina8idaeox9o2esbycde08

I tried to make the info banner as small as possible so that you get a good idea of what the paper looks like.  I found this awesome action and overlay over on The Coffee Shop Blog early this week and knew that I wanted to use it for this month's paper.  It really makes a difference from the original piece of work.  This paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels and in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. Credits include:  William Ehrendreich and Ben Kerckx (Pixabay.com); Jerry Jones from Shadow House Creations; and Rita from the fabulous The Coffee Shop Blog.  To grab today's offering, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the papers, the preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Finally, you can find your bonus stamp for October below.  Well, I managed to find the round date stamps that I
couldn't seem to locate for Aug. and Sept.  They were on the last post of October's offering.  Silly me.  You can just left click on this one to bring it up in the lightbox and then right click to save it in its original size.

Stay tuned for a new Wonderful Wednesday post coming next month, hopefully back on a Wednesday!

Until next time,

Freebie: Love is in the Air

Hello everyone.  I hope that you are having a good week.  Today I want to share a freebie with you in honour of the 28th anniversary of the day that the hubs and me officially became a couple way back in 1987--not a married couple, that didn't happen until one and a half years later.  Just two innocent people (one much more innocent than the other I'll add since I was only 20) starting off on a path of love.

Yesterday, October 21st, was that day for us.  Normally I'd have created and posted this then, but just like last year, I felt that it was far more important to actually spend a bit of extra time with the man that I am still in love with so you aren't getting the freebie until today.  We had a wonderful supper out last night and then came back home and simply relaxed.  Man, it is hard to wrap my head around the fact that we have been together for so long.

Anyway, here is the preview of the paper...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Pixel ScrapperFull credits in the file.  To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

I hope that you all enjoy the remainder of the week.  It is a busy one for me as usual but I am sure I will be seeing you again very soon.

Until next time,
